So often as I travel and meet with pastors, youth pastors, leaders, parents and of course teenagers I often get questions about what happens behind the scenes at Acquire The Fire. How do we arrive at decisions? What is planning the ATF events like? Usually when people hear that I’m the Director of Acquire The Fire they say something like “Wow, That’s a BIG job!” or how does your family handle the work and pace?
I’ve decided to start a blog to allow people a real ‘behind the curtain’ view of ATF and a peek into my life as the director. I’ll talk about decisions, planning, ideas and some of my candid thoughts. It will range from the funny to the serious and hopefully you’ll get to know me and my heart along the way. You’ll meet my family and staff (who are a bit like my extended family!) I’ll give you a peek at aspects of ATF that few actually see. So follow me as we take a walk behind the curtain…

Hey bro! I will definitely have this on my RSS feed. Love you man and great first post. I just started my own blog as well and am venturing into all this stuff. You da man and I have always thought that from our days years ago at ATF.
Kemtal!
I will be great keeping up with you. It’s funny how memories randomly pop into your head. I had a Kemtal memory the other day….. At work we use radios that are excatly like the ones we use on the MT. Instead of using mine I just yelled in the middle of the store for the person I was looking for. It made me laugh cause I remember how you wouldnt use the radio and would yell for me across the arena with the words Come here NOW NOW NOW! I honestly have no clue how you made it the entire year with your voice. LOL. Maybe I’ll get lucky this year and see you in Nashville!
yay! now I’ll actually be able to keep tabs on how your life is going! hahaha
looking forward to further entries.

Hello, it’s good to speak with you again. My youth ministry group attended the convention in Greensboro, and the representative they sent with us was blown out the water. She suggested to the church that everyone should attend one of these events. Just little information about my church, they don’t see change, enough said. They feel if they don’t know the people teaching their children, that I should search for events within their circle of churches. Theres nothing wrong with that, but even in their circle the churches are changing. There are very few people (young) in our church. When I ask why, the answer is the same, there’s nothing here for young people. I’ve only been working with the youth for 2 yrs. and I have never did this before, but I like what I see in what you’re doing, and I intend to keep pushing it in the church. So here’s to you and the Aquire The Fire Team.
